It's been so long since I've even seen a bill from them, I moved several times, went to prison , got out, moved some more, and now im trying to fix the mistakes from my past. I dont remember the the accountnnumber, or even the company I got them from, where do I start?

If it has been over 4 years don't worry about it. You will actually do more damage to you credit by paying them off now because your credit is mostly about the last 2 years so if you pay them off now it will show up as a bad account now and drop your credit score.

If it has only been a year or 2 you can get a free copy of you credit report by calling the credit reporting agencies and it will have the name and contact info for all of you creditors on the last 2 pages.

Go online to www.annualcreditreport.com and follow instructions to take a look at your credit report. All the information will be there so you can contact the company or whatever. If it's more than seven years ago, forget about it! Statute of limitations has expired and you're home free! It's a free once a year service to view your credit report!

Check with any credit bureau, they should have the contact information for those companies that reported a loss that is reflected on your credit.
