Washer and dryer versus washer-dryer eh? I had them separate, at the cost of a dishwasher because washer dryers tend to be less efficient to run on a few fronts. 1st you can usually only wash half a load if you want to go straight through to dry and 2nd dryers on a washer dryer are one way tumble only and that means your clothes get in a huge knot and often aren't properly dry when the cycle is over. Also the efficiency rating on the dryer in a washer dryer is usually abysmal and lets be honest that's the most expensive part to run. Had you considered a good compact dishwasher which you could put on the sideboard or even in a cupboard with appropriate drainage facilities as an option if you're desperate not to have to compromise at all? Or maybe a small tumble dryer? White Knight make very cheap but fairly robust small vented dryers that could be cupboarded quite easily(depending on your outside wall situation). Hope that helps not hinders!

Presuming this is because of space. I would go for the washer/dryer and the dishwasher.
Admittedly washer/dryer combi's aren't as good as a separate washer and dryer but they a lot better than having to do loads dishes in my opinion!
I used to have a separate washer and dryer which was great because you can dry more clothes in a separate dryer. When we moved I have inherited a combi washer/dryer which doesn't take as much clothes but still does the job. I think a dishwasher is a necessity - a dirty dishes cupboard so they don't pile up all around your kitchen.

I mean, a washer dryer? Think about you can easily wash your dishes by the sink. A washer and a dryer is better because you don't have to go all the way to the laundromat, that way, you don't have to spend money all the time to get your clothes washed. You know what I mean? Half of the time the washer dryer cleans the dishes. Like, it don't clean it all the way. I Know somebody that has one. What I am saying is, get a washer and a dryer because you might need it more than a washer dryer. You know what i mean? Take Care!!! And please don't get one thing and wished you had got the other!!!!!!!! MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd get the washer and dryer if I don't have money for a washer, dryer and dishwasher since we hardly ever use the dishwasher anyway.

If it is a space problem then there are washer dryer combinations you can buy where the washer and dryer are combined into a single until. In fact I have seen them at Home Depot, Lowe's and I think Sears. I'm not sure about Sears it Sears carries them any more but that is where we bought ours when we first married. It was a Whirlpool if I remember right.

I have a washing machine and a tumble dryer and no dishwasher.......next time I would consider a washer dryer. But as I wash every day..big family..at least I can get the next load in while the last is drying.

I have the space for a dishwasher..but I really do not want one...I would have to double up on crockery etc just so that we can keep going while a load is in.

Now its winter you need to dry clothes.....I would rather have a pile of clean dishes on the drainer drying than clothes hanging around the house...

The only time I yearn for a dishwasher is at christmas.

It all depends on your lifestyle...lots of washing = washer and seperate dryer in my mind. But if not much washing =washerdryer and dishwasher.

Go for a washer and dryer. Clothes are a lot harder to wash by hand and take a lot longer to dry then dishes do. When you can, get a dishwasher too if you want. But I would start with getting a washer and dryer.

Leigha sounds like she knows what she's talking about. I've had a washer/dryer for years and wouldn't be without it - but I was advised to go for the biggest drum available as they're not as efficient at drying as a separate dryer. It was a good decision and I've had no regrets. Go for the washer/dryer and the dishwasher.

Washer and Dryer -so much worth the cost and the combo can be "fiesty"-just as any combo anything is- dishwashers aren't that bad in price- maybe gift certificates to Lowes or Best Buy could be on your xmas list from Family- When you get in to the family, couple,or married thing, well, the joys of modern Technology can take a front row seat! (except for those little goodies in your sock for each other!-those are the most important;0)

Give me the Washer and Dryer anytime! I would eat off paper plates and save money for a dishwasher!

I had a washer and dryer for over 25 years, and I miss them now! I hate laundry mats, and they cost a lot too!

At worst it takes fifteen minutes to keep the dishes clean!

Get the washer and dryer now and keep saving for that dishwasher. It's easier to wash dishes then it is to do clothes properly.
