I was asked last sunday to sing solo in our Christmas play at church! I'm very shy and hate getting in front of anyone, but i want to prove to my family that i can. Do any of you know how i can not be scared when i get up there to sing my solo?

Howdy
I sure don't know sh!t about singing, but I do know about being nervous in front of a crowd...
And what helps me is to come from the heart (even in a matter of public speaking) - There are those times when whatever it is you've got to say really needs out, and you feel your message so deeply that no number of attentive faces can sway you from your point...
Take this coming week to develop a love for your solo. Practice it until you know it is perfect, and you simply have no choice but to raise your voice to the rafters - feel the music, feel your song - let it become something so wonderful that you would feel maybe a little selfish if you didn't stand up there next Sunday and bring some joy to your audience.
Feel it.
Feel it.
Touch it. Love it.
You'll do great.

It's very natural to be nervous. Practice a lot. While you're practicing, think about God like you're singing to Him alone. He will love you no matter what. Then when it's time for your solo, remember you're singing to God and you'll be more relaxed.

how bout having a good friend sing beside u or u can practice singing on a kareoke machine, get used to hearing your voice. then when u think ur ready try singing in front of your friends or peers..they r your biggest critics..if you were excellent..trust me..they will tell you. after hearing these compliments you should feel more confident in yourself! Practice, Practice, Practice!

Ask some family members to come here you sing at your house. That might help. Just believe in yourself and you can do anything!

all of us reward from Biblical learn regardless of if or no longer they bypass into finished-time ministry or no longer. that must be like asking "ought to those who do secular learn be made extensive-unfold sound economic suggestion?" Of coarse! Their meant fields is probably no longer economic yet being greater smart with money reward each and every individual no count what their container.

Take a deep breath step up there and do it! Don't hesitate just go and do it.
That is what I do and it helps
Also remember if you make a mistake no one is going to notice unless you make a big deal out of it.
GOOD LUCK!
