- Billberry extract, turmeric, celery seed extract, chamomile in tea form.
- Apply cayenne powder, mixed with enough wintergreen oil to make a paste, to affected areas to relieve inflammation and pain. This may cause stinging sensation at first, but with repeated use, pain should diminish markedly.

I have had pretty severe attacks of gout!! I found I can reduce the severity of those attacks and actually make them go away with drinking juice made from Montmorency Red Tart Cherries. If you email me I will send you a link to the farm in Michigan where I buy the concentrate. Or I also found a company that sells the juice in tablet form which I use daily. I use the concentrate for flair-ups of gout. since I use the cherry stuff every day, I have only had several minor attacks. Hope this helps! I know VERY well how painful gout can be!!!!

Gout is a condition where uric acid crystals build up in the body.
This can happen in the area of the big toe and cause a lot of pain.
Our foods contain purines; some foods are higher in this than others.
The doctor may place you on a lower purine diet (of which they will usually provide you a list of foods to avoid. There is also medications that can lower the uric acid in the blood
Here an alternative way to cure gout?

Water

Let me explain. Gout is a problem with various crystalline deposits that are not supposed to be in the joints. It's actually a grouping of diseases. The problem here is abnormal kidney function for the most part. The kidney is not getting rid of certain solutes fast enough. They build up. When they reach a certain threshold, they crystalize. Not a problem most places in the body but in the synovial fluid of the joints, this can be quite painful, especially if your synovial fluid is a bit lacking due to poor nutrition and dehydration. Drinking fluids other than water causes a net loss, for the most part, of the kidney's ability to excrete various solutes (especially if they contain caffeine). Renal function is complicated, so you'll either have to take my word for it or pick up a 500 page medical text on it to understand what is going on. Not that it matters as the conclusion of reading an appropriate text is that humans are only designed to drink water....duh.

One thing to be aware of is the number one cause of gout these days.....ACE inhibitors for the treatment of high blood pressure. Although ACE inhibitors are a powerful treatment for high blood pressure, they interfere with kidney function somewhat. That leads to gout in some people, especially if their kidney function isn't too great to begin with. If you are taking blood pressure meds, discuss this issue with your doctor and consider a med that doesn't have this problem. Warning. Under no circumstances, stop taking your blood pressure med or change your meds without being under a doctor's advice. Uncontrolled blood pressure is far more dangerous than gout.

Gout is a condition with painful joints of the toes, fingers or other areas along with elevated blood uric acid. Sharp crystals cause physical damage to the cartilage. Once known as a "rich man's disease", gout affects those who are usually overweight and consume alcohol, large quantities of red meat, and rich foods. It is frequently characterized by a sudden onset of extreme pain with the big toe swelling and becoming highly inflamed. While there sometimes is a headache and other times a fever that accompanies it, the most pronounced symptom is that huge, painful, swollen big toe. Have a thorough physical exam preformed and begin following the recommendations of a health care provider. Start a low stress diet consisting of more vegetables (a greens & beans diet) and fewer animal products. You should also take a glucosamine supplement like Replenex to help rebuild damaged cartilage. Apply "Pain-A-Trate" ( both are from www.Melaleuca.com) to any affected joint 2-4 times each day at first, then each morning and evening until painless mobility is achieved. Take a hot soak with 1 quart of water and Tea Tree Oil/Green Soap/SD Alcohol combination called (Sol-U-Mel) each morning to minimize damage.

It is suggested that someone with gout take supplements to rebuild the body because when the body is deficient in certain vitamins such as B5, A and E, excessive amounts of uric acid may be produced. The Vitality For Life Pack from above company is excellent and will help to prevent these deficiencies. Also, Candida (or yeast) infections will also increase a uric acid blood level, which is why you should consider a good detoxifieng tea to your diet each day. (Melaleuca is the botanical name for the Tea Tree). It has antiseptic properties as well as kills, bacteria, staph, strep, viruses, e.coli, candida and is also an anti-fungal and anti-parasitic.

This is one natural remedy for many ailments that has never failed to produce the desired results for me as well as my family and friends.

Good Luck & Be Well
