Just re-installed windows XP , now computer will not detect audio hardware or ethernet card ,

load the drivers for ur motherboard ... or find out the manufacturer and model and google for the drivers ...

Go to system under Control Panel, and Hardware. Click the audio and ethernet cards and download drivers.

If the computer is new, it probably has a "Chip Set" and these drivers have to be loaded "first" before it can operate completely and proper. If you have a drivers disk with the chip set drivers on it, load that set of drivers first then continue. If no disks, go to the motherboard manufacturers web site and see if you can get them there.

check for the driver cd for audio
if not then must be that the card has a problem just try yourself to remove if and put it back in if you can or get the Computer Engineer ok

Smack is right, good suggestion. I would add to go in to device manager and see if XP sees it, and it is not working.
Delete the drivers, reboot and see if XP finds them.

( Sometime xp might stand for Extra Problems, but it is a good OS)

DID YOU INSTALL FROM RECOVERY DISK OR ORIGINAL XP ? EITHER WAY JUST GO BACK IN AND REINSTALL THE HARDWARE YOU CAN`T ACCESS. IF SERVICE PACK 2 IS PRESENT .HAVE U TRIED A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA . PLEASE TELL ME YOU BACKED UP YOUR OS AND FILES ?????..AND NOT TO THE HD REMOVABLE STORAGE DVD, CD SMART CARD . FROM CLI [COMMAND LINE INTERFACE ]TYPE [ IPCONFIG /ALL] IF YOUR IP ADDRES IS [169.254.ANY.ANY ]YOU HAVE APIPA JUST START OVER LIKE YOU JUST BOUGHT IT. CONTROL PANEL SEARCH FOR NEW HARDWARE ETC.ETC.GOOD LUCK BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
