Wait until the icicles are hanging off the end of your nose!I've had my heat on for some time now.Usually set between 65-70.But i live in a tri-level house so the temps very from level to level.

Waiting until you see your breath is a little drastic. I think that now is a good time to but your heat on. But you don't have to have it on as high when your not home and I think when your sleeping so you can lower it then.

It was 52 yesterday in SC. I turned my heat on and set it at 71> My house is comfortable but no, I would not wait untill you see your breath. Now is a good time.......

OMG how are you still alive? I am in ATL heat has been on for weeks. Turn on heat at 50 outside. You northerners are crazy. See your breath inside?

Depends on if there are small children in the house....if so get the heat on sooner....if not I don't think there is anything wrong with using blankets and sweats to keep warmer while saving on gas/electric.

i put my heat on at 60 I kep it 72 year round. I live in virginia mild climate, we have had heat for a couple of weeks. why suffer? why be uncomfortable? are you that tight. does money mean that much to you, that you want spend a lil to be comfortable?

If you are cold, put the heat on! There is no sense waiting around!!:) It all depends on your personal perference, if you want to put the heat on, then do it, if you don't, then don't !!

hell you trying to kill that poor man turn the heat on if its in the 40s outside your house should be at least 65 that's a comfortable temp
