I would need to know more about the flies you have. Are they accumulating in the window sills? If so, is this mostly in the fall/winter?
Can you describe the insects - size, color, striations, etc?
Without knowing the above, my best guess would be that you have cluster flies. They are dark grey an are slightly larger than house flies. The area just behind the head (the thorax) of newly emerged adults is covered with golden hairs, or setae, and when at rest, their wings overlap slightly at the tips. House flies spread their wings slightly when at rest. They get their common name from the habit of entering buildings and gathering in clusters. Cluster flies move slowly, and muddle around windows and lights, bumping into objects in their path. They also have the distinctive habit of falling to the floor and spinning noisily on their backs until they're exhausted.
Caulking any openings to the interior - windows, doors, screening, vents, etc. is important, but often it is virtually impossible to ‘screen them out'. When they become active inside, you can spray with an aerosol containing pyrethrins to kill those in the vicinity.

I had Basil but it never works.
Best is put an opened lemon in the area. However, it only last for few days.

Something is attracting them there. I would empty the room completely and give it a good cleaning.
