I don't know why so many people pay for computer security programs. The ones I use are free, and do an excellent job. Anyway, if you have viruses/trojans, then you need to take some steps. Here's what I post for questions like this (I've done it myself, and it works).

The following steps will clean out most problems. Take them in order. They will take
some time and effort, but if you skip anything you’ll still have the problem (the last
computer I did this for, Panda and Housecall cleaned out over 30 viruses).

First, go here and run Panda ActiveScan (online virus scan)
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm

Then, go here and run Housecall (another online virus scan)
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Then, go here and download Ewido (the free trial version) http://www.ewido.net/en/ .
Install it, BUT DON’T RUN IT YET.

Reboot your computer into safe mode (tap F8 repeatedly as it reboots, then choose safe
mode). While in safe mode, run Ewido. Then, reboot normally.

When done, download and run AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy. They both have
help files, but basically just let them run a full-system scan and remove whatever they find.
BE SURE TO UPDATE THEM FIRST, BEFORE RUNNING THEM. After this, update
and run them every couple of weeks to keep spyware from accumulating.

AdAware (Get the se personal)
http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

Spybot Search And Destroy
(choose language, then click icon for “Spybot - Search & Destroy”)
http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

If these steps do not clean out your computer, you will need advanced help (the above
steps will clean out over 90% of computers). I suggest one of the free computer help
forums you can find on a Google search (Pctorium, Help2Go, Spywarewarrior are three).
You’ll have to register (it’s free), then go to their Spyware and Virus Removal Forum.

**Be specific about what your problem is, and when you post be sure to tell them all you
know about your system (Processor speed, size of hard drive, RAM memory amount,
audio and video cards if you have them, and Operating System -- 98SE, 2000, XP, etc.).

**Also be sure to tell them the steps you’ve already taken (above). They’ll take you
through it step-by-step, and they have advanced tools available that need an expert to
interpret.

If you need help finding out what’s in your computer, you can download and run Belarc
Advisor. Once installed, when you run it you’ll get a window showing everything on your
computer. Just look for the specs I listed above and it will tell you. You can get Belarc
Advisor here http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

After you’re done and your computer is clean, you should get the following programs to
keep your system free of further problems. Be advised there are other good anti-virus,
firewall, and spyware programs that are free -- I just listed these because they are the ones
I use and they work for me. BE SURE TO HAVE ONLY ONE ANTI-VIRUS
PROGRAM INSTALLED. If you try two, they’ll work against each other and cause all
kinds of problems. You may have to uninstall an existing anti-virus program to install the
one you want.

AVG anti-virus (free version)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

ZoneAlarm (use the free version -- when you get the window asking if you want to
upgrade, just tell it to remind you in 60 days)
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp (scroll down and click “Free ZoneAlarm
and Trials”, then scroll to the right on the page it opens and click to download just the
basic firewall -- the others you have to pay for).

***NOTE*** -- ZoneAlarm version 6.5 and above will not work with Windows 98SE or
Windows ME. It is only for newer Windows systems (2000, XP, Vista. If you have 98SE
or ME, you’ll have to Google search for a firewall compatible with 98 and ME.

SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster (several downloads here -- just get these two)
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/downloads.html

***ONE LAST NOTE***
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, download and run "HijackThis" unless
you are an expert at interpreting the results. This program is an advanced malware
removal tool. If you check the wrong thing and tell it to “Fix,” you could do
irreparable damage to your computer. If it becomes necessary to use a program like this,
go to the help forum and let them tell you what to do with it. Again, that usually will not
be needed if you follow the steps above. They will fix most problems.

I have spyware doctor and you have to pay for it to be fully effective.
Here are 3 that are free and work good.

All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free.
Try this scan, its free, it removes
I-Worm/Stration · BackDoor.Generic3.GBB and .GBC · Worm/Generic.FX · Exploit.WMF

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

No- you selected a trial program - not a share ware program that will work for a limited time or a free program. A trial program will show you something wrong and then say "buy me - if you want to fix this. A share ware will show you the problem and fix it each time you run the program for about 30 days and then give you the "buy" me before I'll work again. A free program is much lower on the list and often the free ones don't start till page 3 or 4. They are free because they are outdated and will not be updated in most cases. They will fix previous problems but not new adware or shareware programs written after they went free. No - the one you have has not fixed anything and will not unless you buy it.

Are you sure it is not a trial you have and you have to pay for it first? If you have AOL.. you should download the AOL spyware or go to google.com and type in "free spyware" and get one there. IF a spyware detects, it will say if it knocked it out or now.. if it does not.. it is simply an enticement for you to buy their product

zango is usually downloaded in games online. there was(and probably still is) spyware named search assistant180 and it was a cu*t to get rid of and i think this zango is something to do with it. as long as you have decent anti spyware then you should be fine. AVG will not remove xango !!

Most probably you are using a trial version .
Usually the trial will detect viruses & trojans but won't be able to delete it automatically . U'd have to purchase or register it to have the program to delete those malicious contents in ur PC . I'm recommending you to register it & then have the software removed those viruses & trojans for you . Coz if you try to delete those programs manually, you might delete programs which are not viruses & it may cause ur PC to crash.
