"Emotional intelligence" is a recently fashionable phrase, but I have yet to see a useful, let alone rigorous, definition of it. "Immaturity" is a much more established and even more useless word......OK, it makes sense in talking about physical development, or metaphorically about project development, but to refer to a person psychologically as "immature" is difficult without it being received as an attack which doesn't help them or help oneself understand them.
