the thing is does using the laptop on AC power, without battery harm the motherboard n all? I mean if i want to use it for prolonged durations. As the batt wil keep getting charge.

Ok here it is more clearly... My question is whether running the laptop is better on AC Power MINUS battery or AC Power WITH battery. Which is better?

I sure hope not. Maybe I got lucky, but I removed my battery to get the number off it and see if it was one that was recalled. My laptop was being powered at the time with ac power. Everything still seems to be OK and it's been a few weeks now.

Does it cause physical damage? No.

Will removing ANY device that writes files while it's trying to write potentially screw up the data on the device? Yup.

In other words, it can't harm the hardware, but it can possibly mess up the software. Doesn't happen very often, but it DOES happen.

Not as long as you are plugged in. If you are running and you take it out without being plugged in then it obvoiusly will crash the machine.
