You shouldn't bathe your rat they groom themselves. If your rat smells maybe his cage is dirty and you need to clean it more often? Also don't try to spray air freshner or something in the room of your rat its not good for him.

Try to keep your pets surroundings clean so your pet rat does not need a bath to much because you rt will HATE water if forced but you got to do it sometimes. I do it if I have family coming over EXSPECILAY when I have a family member who thinks rats are the stinkiest animals on the planet or if your rat is smelling like the stinkiest animal on the planet. When you do make sure you give a treat like a chocolate chip after when drying.

Bathing as such should not be necessary unless your rattie has got into the bin or something really stinky like that. If you must bathe them then use baby shampoo and be really careful to dry them thoroughly. They will need to be kept extra warm until they are completely dry - so offer them plenty of dry bedding and a nice warm lamp to bask under.

Rats do not enjoy being bathed much. However, my ratties have always enjoyed being offered bathing water to wash themselves in. This does keep them smelling much sweeter, and also helps to keep their feet in good condition. You should offer about 3 cm of room temperature water in a heavy dish that they can perch on the edge of and also fit into comfortably. Make sure that the weight of your rattie won't tip the bowl over when he stands on the edge of it. I always offer them clean bathing water every day when they are out of their cage for playtime.

You shouldn't unless it somehow gets really filthy and stinks. If so, make sure you clean the cage and wait, because it could just be the cage. If you still have to, get a special shampoo made just for rats or small animals.

You really shouldnt. I know your rat probally smells (they all so) but actually bathing them can wash away thier natural oils and can make them sick and possibly die. If you can stand the stench, I would just go to Petsmart and see if they have any kind of scented powder spray for rodents.

In the kitchen sink. I think they clean themselves so leave him alone.

I personally would lather him up, drop him in the toilet and flush to rinse...............only kidding sort of.
