my upper part of body from cheast to waist is longer than it should be.so whenever i wear a saree my navel gets exposed.I am a school teacher and at school i have seen my students staring and gazing at my navel.that seems very bad.Even some of my family persons loks at my navel in bad way .I am in a cultural family and wearing saree is compulsory for us.So please advise me a way to come out of this situation.

Do sarees only come in one size? Surely they can be adjusted to cover your navel.
Otherwise, put something over your navel - perhaps a gem of some sort. Or can you wear a covering garment under your saree?

Umm.. thats a problem for sure. Try wearing blouses with the bottom part longer so that it covers at least half of your navel. Also why dont you pin up your saree in a way that it completely covers your navel.... I have never worn a saree, so I wouldn't know but I ve seen many people wear it in a way that the navel becomes absolutely covered. You know like Priyanka Gandhi wears it, try wearing it like that.

hi rekha, when i was studying in college, my accounts lecturer a 25 year old lady, she used to expose her navel too. :) We liked it though. Nowadays these are very normal things. Even if u cover fully there are some ppl use to see the way u said. Actually navel is a very sexy part. :) What do u teach Rekha?
My suggestions is to Just ignore it. May be some ladies will answer ur question for how to cover it. :)

u can tie saree and pin the pallu of saree covering navel,after all showing navel makes u attractive

Your upper part of body is from breast to waist not chest to waist.You use some kind of gold ring pears ed in navel.That will help you convincing your self that they must me staring at ring and it's diamond pendent.
More over you can use your saree pallu to hide that portion.
I guess wearing one gold ring would be better idea.

Have you tried possibly adding an extra "scarf" or "sash", long enough to tie loosely around your belly button area? It would look like an accessory to the saree if used in matching color/colors.

Can you wear a camisole underneath your tops? Nordstrom has long ones which are quite form fitting and wont affect the fit of your regular clothing.

hi rekha, ans is simple, dont fold ur pallu instead try wearing single fleat cotton sarees. since they r not even transparent!!!
