I think this plant must of reminded someone of a silver dollar. In the business it's common name is honesty plant, but it is also known as a dollar plant, moneywort, money plant and moonwort. The botanical name is Lunaria annua. This is the coolest flower ever!! Hope you are a grower of them. The seed pod {the part that looks like a half dollar is my favorite part of the plant.!!!!!!!!!

Superstititon has it that growing money plant can help the grower to grow money as well, not on trees but of course by hard work!
