Simply because our system of Government and laws are not set up to cover a Marriage of more than 2 people. If you bother looking at the History of Polygamy, the middle eastern practice comes from the religious aspects of marrying a female to avoid committing adultery, the Mormon side came from the "be fruitful and multiply" where the "couple" model has examples found around the globe that have no strict basis in religions.

Somehow you have gotten the conniption that gays oppose polygamy. That is not necessarily true. Just because it is between any consenting adults does not mean it has no definition. A tailgate party is among consenting adults, and yet it has a definition.
I believe it does not necessarily have to be between two people. If a woman has an affair with another man but that man likes her husband better than her, then the best way out may be a three-way marriage.
However, gay marriage is now threatened, and so are unmarried straight couples and possibly many other agreements between people. Proposition 1 in Virginia is so general that it could apply to a wide variety of things. It threatens to take rights away from people. The constitution is about giving rights to people, so the proposition does not belong in the Constitution. Please vote NO on Proposition 1 if you live in Virginia!

I support gay marriage and while I don't agree with polygamy, I respect the right for people to make their own home the way they see fit. I'm not the one who has to come home to that every day so what does it matter to me? If some woman wants to share her man with 4 other women and have a house with 52 kids in it why not? The government has no right to intervene in what consenting adults do in their own homes period.

I believe that marriage is a love between 2 people. I don't agree with polygamy because it's not love, it's lust. If you really love someone, you shouldn't need some one else. I also don't agree with the way children are treated in polygamist communities.

i just support gay marriage because it is their personnal life. but on the contraductory i just hate polygamy. u may think that it might be fun but a lot of troubles may be resulted. an example when u love one u can express ur love to her alone. so the bond between you would be good. when u have her child there are less propability for any legal disasters fighting for ur fortunes. u may rest in peace after ur eternal sleep, as u must be satisfied that ur future generation just is going on well. I SAY JUST LOVE ONE AND MARRY HER TO MAKE HER UR WIFE, THEN UR LIFE WILL BE JUST AS GOOD AS THE HAPPIEST MAN IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

You have phrased this poorly for addressing this question to this group of people. However, knowing what you mean... I support the marriage if any consenting adult. Yes, those against gay marriage think we want to destroy traditional marriage. They believe that allowing same sex marriage in and of itself is a destruction of traditional marriage. I disagree, and believe that it can only strengthen traditional marriage. I mean, whats the divorce rate? I dont really give much credibility to the whole "sanctity of traditional marriage" argument anyways - its mostly bs.

Two different topics, two very different situations.
Let me guess, you probably also think that gays and pedophiles are the same thing, right?
Education my friend. Feed your brain more.
The gay people that I know (one of my childhood best friends grew up in gay household) do not and would not support polygamy.
Polygamy is a religious lifestyle. It is a choice.
Being gay IS NOT a choice. I don't know of any gay person who would have chosen to be gay. From what I've seen, it is NOT an easy lifestyle to live.

Not necessarily, you are talking about two different things. That you suppport on doesn't mean you support the other.
