I was on a school bus coming back from a field trip. It probably happened several days before the actual field trip, but that's when I heard it. He was a superstar, so even kids like me who had never even listened to his music, knew who he was and were shocked to hear the news.

Heya,
This is kinda funny but I was only 6 years old and I can remember where I was. I was at my babysitters and the phone rang. The lady that was looking after me sounded upset and started crying. She ended up calling my mother asking her to come pick me up because she was just too rattled to look after me.
So my mom shows up at the door in tears and I am thinking that my parents are getting a divorce or something and I remember having this really panicky feeling in m stomach. They were both crying and holding one another so I went to the bathroom thinking I was going to puke.
Its funny the things you remember when you were a kid like when the Space Shuttle exploded. I was at home faking sick from school and watching it on the tube!!!!
I highly doubt my wife and I are going to cry when K-Fed ends up being found in Spears bathroom with 5 needles stuck up his ****.

He died when I was 7...in my mind I was his biggest fan. I listened to all his music, my mom would send the other kids to bed and because I loved him so much I was allowed to stay up and watch his movies. When he died my mom was in Florida, she called home and I told her he had died (she told me she found out - they have news in Florida too) ...I literally locked myself in my room for 2 weeks. I was all shook up. :) I still listen to him,,,my kids are watching Lilo and Stitch right now, and you better believe they know who Elvis is.

I was sitting at home sometime at the same time i learned who elvis was. Didn't know he died on the pot until a couple years later. Laughed my *** off.
