I've been there twice and i think shopping centres like Marina Square is way better than vivo. Vivo is just like an average shopping centre with average expensive stuffs (zara, topshop etc). The foods are expensive too and its different only that it is located in harbourfront with a slightly better than average environment. well, thats it.

Vivocity offers more than just shopping. There is an open-air courtyard, a 300m promenade, an amphitheatre as well as the biggest GV cineplex in Singapore so if you are looking to spend some quality time with your friends or family Vivocity is the place to be. The scenery at night is absolutely magnificent and you can't get that elsewhere.
The stuff there are not very expensive and even if they are their quality far surpasses those of estabilshed malls in Orchard. The Crystal Jade there has very good quality service so at the end of the day you will realize that for the most part you are in fact paying for the fabulous service which you can't really expect from other malls.
Basically Vivocity offers much more in terms of entertainment, food, leisure, necessities that u can't find in other malls.

I think vivo city is the 1st shopping centre to open the American apparel brand, GAP...the jeans are quite expensive. Not all the stuff there are expensive....but only some shops. They say Vivocity is just like another Orchard Road .

I don't think there's much differences from other shopping centres in orchard, except that it's very new.
However, they have a Gap store over there which is worth going to if you like shopping for clothes.
But the stuff there are definitely as expensive as the stuff bought in orchard.

Yes, I've just visited VIVO City.
To my surprise, some shops are still renovating. The food there are priced slightly higher.
It is quite a nice place...especially with the view of Sentosa. Personally, I find the place quite confusing (maybe b'cos I am still unfamilar)....But I find the place very lively.....It is a nice place to just 'Chill'...
You planning to go down??
Cheers....n Have a nice trip...

Its different in the sense that almost every store can be found there, because of its size. Retail prices are the same everywhere, and it depends on what you usually shop for.

difference, you'll get to see greenery instead of concrete buildings surrounding the shopping mall.
Expensive or not, depends on what you're buying. I believe a Zara shirt will cost the same be it at Vivo City or Marina Square.

its quite huge actualy but its only 3 stories high and most of the shops are on the 1st n 2nd levels only. i notice that there are many branded boutiques on the 1st floor. and the choice of food is also limited and the crowd is so damn a lot. Dont go during the weekends. Singaporeans kiasu.uncivilised. =) Enjoy!

Shopping centres are just shopping centres. If you do not have the ability to spend, then just stay at home.

yes things there are quite expensive. but i think its more of a convenient place for tourists to shop as they can come from sentosa or star cruise. and they do cater for people who are willing to spend more.
