I have to go to try-outs today and i'm drawing a blank. When I run towards the basket can I pick up the ball with both ands and take two steps without dribbling the ball?

I know how to do one but I am so nervous that I keep forgetting what to do.

Yes you can pick the ball up with two hands. You can also use the court markings to help you remember. If you use the edge of the key as a reference point and take your first step form the edge of the key each time it will help you remember not to start your lay-up to far of too close to the basket. Always remember to shoot your shot off the backboard softly as the speed you are moving towards the basket with is also transferred to the ball. Also try to remember to shoot your shot off the top corner of the square on the backboard when you shoot your shot. Last thing to remember if you are right handed your first step is with your right foot. Left handed your first step is with your left foot.
Finally, practise!!! Good Luck!

what he said and you can take 2 steps no more the that though. practice with a couple of stop and pop jumpers near the basket. run then stop and pop and after that try running and instead of stopping go for the layup.
