1978 , mother driving, drunk driver ran us off the road, basically I hit a tree, just a little door in between me and the tree. I died instantly. Rescue 100 yards away ran to car revived me, while treating mother and sister, I died again, revived 2nd time. After pulling car and me from around tree, taking pressure off of me, woof, gone again. 3rd time revived. in ambulance to hospital, yes, gone again 4th time revived. I was told, I would never walk again, not to mention all the other injuries. My reply "want to bet" it took a long time but I'm walking!!!!! Must be part Cat !?

Got knocked over my bycicle, then the car run over my legs. Snapped my lag in 2 places, crushed foot and ankle. In hospital for 3 weeks, in plaster for 6 months. Not nice but alive! Another one on a motorbike in France in a small country lane. Car in opposite direction came towards me at high speed, pushed me off the road. Crashed into a stone wall and very bruised and covered in cow **** but otherwise ok. More recently got hit by a van as I was crossing the road, guy decided to reverse very fast and forgot to look! Been in back pain ever since but again am alive!!!

I guess I have been lucky.

It was'nt me but a friend was on a venture scout weekend away and were playing games with the younger members she was using chairs for the game and one of them had a loose seat somehow she managed to knock the chair over and the leg of the chair (steel) impaled her she was in a terrible mess she had to be brought to hospital which was miles down a mountain and lost a lot of blood, she drifted in and out of consciousness and had to be revived a few times. The hospital fixed her up good she had torn the insides of her self to bits loads of organs punctured and they said she would probably never have children. !0 years later she has a baby daughter and they are both fine.

I have not yet encountered a life threatening accident - and hope not to, ever. However I have encountered a significant injury from attempting to remove corned beef from the tin.

Anyone fancy corned beef, skin, nail and blood sandwiches for tea?

we used to catch the freight train that went through town as it had to slow down to about 20 to go through the area. We would run our but off and grab a ladder and hop off across town. Was great transportation as a 13 yr old. One day the train was moving about 30. I was running as fast as I could on a bridge but instead of running up to it, I had to let the ladder catch up to me so I was looking backwards while running. Just as I grabbed the ladder, I hit a big pile of railroad ties just off the bridge. It kind of tossed me up but I held on to the ladder. When I was coming back down, I hit another stack of ties and this time I couldn't hold on and flew off the ladder onto the ground. I rolled and tumbled a bit and when the dust cleared, my head was about 5 inches from the wheels of the train. I rolled over, stood up and ran down the embankment. Once I was at the bottom my injuries became very apparent but I didn't even notice when I was running. Another few inches and a train would have crushed my head. that was close.

Hi Jon >
I would guess that flying through a car head on, in my motorbike days, and appearing out of the back with a leg cyt in half might qualify.
MORPHINE !!
Bleeding all over the road.
Dodgy, but obviously I'm still here.
Bob.
