Circumcisin isn't a natural thing to do.It should only be done if there is a medical need such as the foreskin being too tight.

People even make excuses for their old chap like "its cleaner"
What a load of rubbish.Havent these people heard of soap and water?
Why do so many men mutilate their penis?

I think it should be an informed, adult choice, not enforced on another person's body, especially children by others unless for medical reasons as you say.

Circumcision is common practive in America regardless of religious affiliation. Parents who opt for it fall into three different categories: (1) the it's "cleaner" crowd; (2) the "i want him to look like his father" crowd; and (3) it's safer crowd. The latter will argue an increased risk of penile cancer in guys who are uncircumcized. I wonder do these people also consider amputating the small toe on each foot so it doesn't get smashed on the coffee table in the middle of the night or the pinky finger so it won't get hurt but a thrown baseball?

And when have a father and son ever stripped down and compared genitals? If the child is born with attached earlobes whereas the father has detached, will the parents make an incision along the base of the skull and the earlobes so that "he can look more like his father?" What if the kid has one eye color and the father another? Why is the penis the focus of this unhealthy obsession with body modification?

And to those who think it's cleaner, just castrate. It's even cleaner that way.

How long will it be before we start tattooing and piercing our babies?

AAAAArrrgh. To the person who said, "it's cleaner, do you use soap and water every time you go to the bathroom, I don't" --URINE is sterile and does not carry any germs. And most adults don't poop their pants where germ carrying feces would be on the head of the penis. Criminy.

I am circumcised but have come to "see the light." The procedure is 100 percent unnecessary and the penis can be kept clean by the person pulling back the foreskin and washing daily or showering daily. A 5-year-old could be taught to do it....

I had our kids circumcized but I would NOT do it anymore. It is an unnecessary procedure.

It doesn't make the penis any "sexier" to be circumcized. Many people in Europe would consider it to look abnormal if it is circumcized.

Technically speaking, any surgical procedure 'isn't natural'. Would you castigate someone for having a wound stitched up, or a filling in one of their teeth?

Speaking as an uncircumcised man, I appreciate your point that it really isn't difficult to keep the crown jewels shiny - I manage it perfectly well - but circumcision is a personal or cultural choice that any man should be free to make.

You clearly don't like the idea of lopping off your foreskin, so simply don't have it done.

A lot of people don't have a choice as in some religions (particularly Jewish), the circumcision is carried out at birth.

Of course it's not natural - we were given a foreskin to protect the glans. Removing it desensitises the glans and thus makes love-making less pleasurable.

I agree, it's just another of those stupid religion things which probably has nothing to do with anything except ancient disease prevention, like putting a ring on a lamb's tail so that it drops off to prevent disease from flies.

It's now really bad in third world countries, especially on girls when they cut their vaginal hoods off or something for no medically sound reason, spreading aids and God knows what else in the process because they use dirty rusty home-made knives.

It's not good so just stop it people! If God had wanted us that way he would have MADE us that way! If you believe that God designed us then why mutilate his grand design? Are you implying that He made a mistake?

not only Jews get circumcised. a lot of cultures go through this. its at sometimes a rite of passage to manhood. like in south Africa. Muslims and people around the Mediterranean usually get circumcised. and in the old times, well hygiene was a lot harder. and in some cultures, its just more beautiful. i personally prefer circumcised guys :P or sometimes, its more like a religious thing, like for Jews and some Indians (from India).

anyway, make some search on that. if you wanna do it, do it, otherwise, don't. its your choice.

Agreed!!
Although I do not wash my penis with soap after pee but I wash it by water. And also I clean it with soap and water while I do my bath. I wash it 2-3 times per day so I'm so sure it's clean.
Just keep it natural.
But circumcision for any reason is good as long as it doesn't harm you penis while doing it. You know we never know when the bad luck comes to us.

It is child abuse.
The child is not given a choice.
Should only be done to men over 18, then by choice only.
Sometimes there may be a medical reason to mutilate a child in that way.

As a circumcised person I must say, I, as most of my circumcised friends/relatives, didn't choose to be. Our parents chose to circumcise us.
