The twice that I was pregnant the doctors took the date from the first day of my last period before I fell pregnant so by the time i thought I was say 6 weeks gone the doctors would count it as 8 weeks because you fall pregnant roughly half way between cycles. Also every bodys baby grows at differnet rates so you may just be having a smaller baby, the scans arnt always correct all of the time, and as for sickness anythign with Ginger in it. I used to put fresh ginger in nearly everything i cooked!!!! Hope this helps and good luck.

well -0 id check with your doctor and midwife as 'medical advice ' changes as the years go on, bnut at the chemists theres a travel sickness tablets called dramamine - it used to be what they prescribed to pregnant women who couldnt stop throwing up after 5/6/7 month period, ginger is supposed to help - DO NOT drink any rose hip tea from your health shop as this has been known to bring on miscarriage in early and later pregnancy, it was originally used at the very end of the pregancy (so a documentary told me) to prepare the hips for child birth, also an old wives tale is that if you take castor oil it hastens your pregnancy, some people just get the runs, be careful not to miscarry. Ginger is good for sickness - but id check ont he doses, ginger biscuits generally containd paprika - and no ginger - so check the ingredients, plus they give heart burn!

I had severe morning sickness that lasted all day and night for 8 months. All the normal ideas such as ginger or eating before you get out of bed did nothing for me. Go to the doctor if you are losing a lot of weight or cannot keep fluids down. There are drugs that they can give you that have been used in pregnancy.
Type 'blooming awful' into yahoo search. You will find information on HG (severe morning sickness) and a forum of people who have been through / are going through a similar thing.

Surprisingly, one of the thing that helped with my morning (noon and night) sickness was dehydrated banana slices (the kind that is in trail mix). I was told at the doc's that they figured how far along I was and my due date from the date of my last period, which was the middle of Nov. 2004, and they said my due date was Aug 12, 2005. I had a problem with that, b/c I got pregnant, then still got my period....so needles to say, I was a little confused, but everything worked out.
P.S. Ginger Ale works wonders!

Take your weeks from the first day of your last period. Go with the scan though as the difference between a five week pregnancy and a ten week pregnancy is quite significant. Go check out pregnancy book or find a magazine charting your progress for you as at five weeks its a dot on the screen and at ten weeks its has some recognisable features.

To see how far gone you are count the weeks from the first day of your last period... Ginger biscuits and water helped me with morning sickness.....after 12 weeks morning sickness tends to calm down or stop, however i have known people to suffer with it all the way through.... Good luck

Yes, apparently you were only 2 weeks along. It is possible to pick up HCG 2 weeks after conception. As for the morning sickness, nothing helped me but women claim ginger ale and crackers help. Eating smaller bland meals I hear helps too. Good Luck!

It is possible to test positive that early in your pregnancy. As for the morning sickness, you will have to put up with it I'm afraid. If you feeling sick try eating plain dry biscuits but you are actually being sick all day you will have to tell your midwife, you may be losing too many nutrients and vitamins.

Try crisps too. The salt can help and peppermint tea too.
To tell how far along you are count 280 days from the first day of your last period. That will give you the due date. Good luck!

i cant really help with the how far along question but go with the sonogram. I found out with my first at 3 weeks. and i know alll about "morning" sickness in my case its all day sickness. try sprite and crackers and remember to eat with your prenatal vitamin. And eat even when your not hungry. I made that mistake with my first not eating cause i always felt like crap but being pregnant takes ALOT from your body you have to put it back rather you fear vomiting or not.
