The thumb. Having a thumb that opposes the fingers gives us our manual dexterity and many believe this is what gave us the edge on the rest of the species on this planet. It is also mooted that for any race to achieve technology they must have an opposable thumb.

fingers are longer than toes. toes' thumb are fatter than your finger's thumb and has larger area than your finger's thumb. it is harder to move your toes than your finger.
