Yes,I do visit Belfast,I was there 3 weeks ago, have been up north 5 times this year and will go again within the next couple of weeks.
Belfast is a beautiful city, lovely people and lots to see.
I understand, because of the past troubles that some may be afraid to go but I can honestly say that I have never been afraid to go to Belfast. My family are from Co Tyrone,(75 miles from Belfast) and even through the troubles I visited my family.
Of course, wherever one travels, one should always be watchful and careful esp at night in a city or town you are not familiar with.this is common sence and applies to everywhere worldwide.
If you would like to visit Belfast then do so,you will love it.Enjoy.

Yes, because my friend lives there. :o)

Everyone remembers it for the terrorism but that's mostly gone now really. I've been twice and had a great time - my mate lives just outside Belfast and it's beautiful.

Having said that, the second time I went - last September - was right around the time all sorts of stuff kicked off and we saw the odd burning vehicle. My friend was bemoaning the fact her favourite Chinese takeaway was burnt down. My mum nearly had a fit - after repeatedly telling her it was safe, there were all these news reports about how violent it was! But we were safe, and I still had a great time.

And that outburst last September was the last main violent event in Northern Ireland, I think, although I don't live there and can't be sure.

Also during that second trip, we drove up to Giant's Causeway, which was just stunning.

WHY NOT? Ive been many many times, its a very beautiful city, which is currently undergoing a huge, major regeneration project. The people are very warm, friendly and welcoming. The bars and clubs are first class, the shopping matches any other major UK city, the countryside surrounding Belfast has some of the most stunning scenery, especially the Antrim Coast, eg: The Giants Causeway. Sure, there has been problems there for decades, but to visit there now, you would Never know. I urge everyone to take a trip there and see for yourselves.

I've been. It's a lovely city. Grat shopping great, people & best of all great pubs. It's well worth a visit there the people in Belfast make visitors feel so welcome.
The rest of the northern towns are equally as nice. I have been to most places in the north & enjoyed every trip.

Of course. Why would you not go there? Any security problems are long gone and Belfast is an up-and-coming city with fast rising house prices to match. The people are nice, there's stuff to do in and around Belfast. The weather's pretty rubbish but that's the U.K. for you. Go visit.

I would, the Irish people are generally very friendly and easy going. The fishing is good over there too. Belfast will be like every other city, good areas and bad areas, you just have to do a bit of research first.

Belfast is one of the fastest growing and cultural cities in the UK right now. It secured a lot of investment in recent times and as such, has a rich cultural and entertainment offering for visitors. What's more, it's cheaper than most UK cities and much less expensive to visit than Dublin. A definite must for any traveller.

I would love to go to Belfast. I would just be wary what colour of socks I was wearing before I entered pubs in certain areas. Then again you can say the same about the West of Scotland

I have been in Belfast for 5times.
I think it is a very nice city, with nice buildings, a nice harbour and a lot of shops and pubs
I like it, coz when you go shopping you can walk to every shop, since its not too big.
The shops are great there, and so is scenery and the people.
I felt always safe there. People do not harm you in the center, they are in fact very friendly.
I just love the whole athmosphere and would love to go there for a sixth time.

do not hesitate!!! GO ;-) :-)
