It is the generally accepted rule to tip a server at a restaurant at least 10% (10 is the lowest you should go, 15 is "good" service and 20 and above is "great" service). This is because these servers are getting paid about half of the minimum wage (its actually a little lower here in Florida), and their livelihood is based on these tips.
The "To go" person, however (at least at my restaurant) is there solely to take and prepare the To go orders (unless its really late, say after 11:00, then it's the bartender's responsibility, and he/she probably has a lot of other things going on too). This To go person is getting paid above minimum wage because there could be no orders at all, and also because everything about that order is their responsibility. They put it all together by themselves and make sure everything is there before it gets to you. The answer to your question is somewhat of a double-edged sword:
1. This person is getting paid more than minimum wage, so why should you tip?
2. This person is making less that they would per hour than a normal server shift, so give them a buck or two make it worth their while!
It is a personal preference, but I remember always being very excited just to get a dollar or two because it made me feel like I didn't waste the night when I could have been serving and making more money!

I hope this helps!

nope. you tip for 20% provider, provider is the greater suitable issues a waitress does like refilling an almost empty water glass until eventually now being asked. on the different hand because of the fact this isnt a mcdonald'scontinual via window you need to tip some small a dollar or 2 the quantity you will possibly provide to a pizza transport guy.

I tip them either 50 cents or a dollar. They are providing a service so they should get something if they are good. I do not feel the need to tip even 10 or 20% like I would a regular server who has to check on me etc.

You can,but if you're like me I only tip if the service was good and not because I feel obligated to do so,so depends on the service

Makes me think about why you need to ask that question. Is it because you wnat to be proper or are you trying to justify getting out of tipping?

thats perfectly fine, they do generally have to get your beverages, salads, soups, bread, condiments, etc....the kitchen does the actual food. generally i never tip less than $3 for curbside, more if its a large order.

Isn't the whole point so you don't have the service and you don't pay for it? They are not delivering to your door. You go to them. No tip needed. If you feel you have to, a buck or two.
