It is sad, but there are some folks that don't know how to deal with people, or themselves for that matter- folks that can't keep it together. Some of these folks have children. Leave if you can. If you can't- work hard to keep your own life in order or you will become them. Do everything you can to keep it together- just do not self destruct. Crappy parents hurt their children enough, and those children usually hurt themselves as well. If you are not better than your parents, you are just as good as them. Rise above.

lol, yes absolutely mothers should act like this. It creates a bit of comedy for neighbors and random people viewing on the internet.
