Umm..sounds nice, I'm not a fan of marquise thouse. I personally like the princess cut, looks nicer and sparkles more. My husband and I picked out my ring and then he suprised me with it, which really was a suprise, because I knew he was going to ask me, just didn't know when and where and how he would do it.

I think I just answered a similar question ...

Personally I like the marquise cut, but its a personal choice which is why you see so many different designs.

If you are buying then be cautions about using jewellers, whilst there are certainly some good ones out there note that in most cases they will try and sell what they have in stock and the price will be around twice what you can buy for at trade!

You can learn a lot abotu diamonds from http://www.gia.edu ... the gemological institute of America, they are the leading organisation to provide certification of a diamonds authenticity.

Once you have seen their website, go to a UK diamond trader that has a quality reputation. My personal recommendation is http://www.bestdiamonds.co.uk who are based in London. They give great advice and their prices will be around half of what you pay in the high street.

I like princess cut 1-2 carat diamonds and my ring is 18 carat white gold and it is gorgeous. My man got mine from Kays Jeweler and they have a nice selection. Zales has nice rings too but they are allot more. Good Luck!

Marquise is not my favorite. I prefer brilliant cut, sesame shape or princess cut.
