I have an external usb drive that I keep all of my business software and personel data backed up to. I use it when I go on a job location for restoring and troubleshooting other peoples drives. What I would like is in case the drive is ever lost or stolen, it would be password protected if found and plugged in somewhere else. And yes, I know that password protection is not the best way to protect files. I don't want to password protect each file individually, I want to just password protect the drive. Any help will be gladly appreciated! Thanks!!!!!!

Use Trek thumb drive, it has a login utility for accessing the drive with a password or search in internet to see which brand provide such function.
