Can someone please explain the difference between these questions:
"Find the highest common factor of . . ." and
"Find the lowest common multiple of . . ."

"Find the highest common factor of . . ." means to find the highest whole number that goes into both of your numbers. For example, say your 2 numbers are 16 and 24. Then 1, 2, 4, and 8 are all factors of both numbers, but 8 is the highest.
"Find the lowest common multiple of . . ." means to find the smallest number that both of your numbers are a factor OF. For example, say your 2 numbers are 16 and 24 again. There are infinite numbers that both will go into, but the lowest of them is 48.

lets see the eg.: 24 = 2 x 12
here 24 is the multiple and 2, 12 are the factors.
Q1. HCF, means the greatest number which is a factor of all the numbers given for ex, 24 and 36, if you write down all the factors then 12 is the HCF
24 = 1x 24 ......... ...36 = 1x36
24 = 2 x "12 " ............ 36 = 2 x 18
24 = 3 x8 ........... 36 = 3 x "12"
24 = 4 x 6 .......... 36 = 4 x 9
.......... 36 = 6 x 6
Q2. LCM, means the smallest number appearing in the table of all the numbers given for ex, LCM of 3 and 4 is 12 as this is the common smallest multiple of both.
3 x1 =3 ........ 4 x1 =4
3 x2 = 6 ........ 4 x2=8
3 x3 =9 ........ 4 x3= "12 "
3 x 4 ="12" ....... 4 x4 =16
3 x 5 =15

HCF OF 4 & 10 is 2 as 2 is the only highest factor which exactly divides both 4 & 10.
LCM of 2 & 8 is 8 as 8 is the only least multiple of both 2 & 8.
But LCM of 2 & 5 is 10 as 10 is the least number which is divisible by both 2 & 5.

higest common factor is the highest number that devides all the numbers for example for 2 numbers 10 and 15 it is 5
lowest common multiple the lowest number that is divisible by all the numbers for example for 2 numbers 10 and 15 it is 30

Your question is too detailed to answer in the abstract. I fail to see how you could pin point the effect of multiple factors without experimentation. You could select any number of things with biological or cultural mechanisms, and list them side by side, but then how would you be able to disentangle the relative influence of each factor? And then, why "those" factors, and not others. Even with sophisticated research you'd still be unable to answer very much. I recently read one book by two social psychologists, and they studied introversion and extroversion over 30 years. And still, they could not decide on the relative influence of biology and culture. It always comes down to 50/50 nature and nurture in the end because the question is overwhelmingly complicated. Good Luck!
