Some people do believe they are always right, however no one is perfect. I do not just agree with my boss in a yes sir no sir fashion because he pays me...if I believe I am right I will tell him the options available and the benefits of them.

If your boss is wrong or you can think of some viable alternatives to your bosses idea then you shouldn't be shy. Tell him or her, there is a chance they haven't even thought of it.

It is difficult to outright tell your boss that he/she is wrong, but if you truly believe it you can try and put your thoughts forward subtly.

There are people whothink the world of themselves and don't listen to others, they are very difficult to work with believe me.

Depends on the boss. You need to know your boss very well before you decide to either correct him or to just say "yes sir, you're always right".

Some bosses (smart, mature people) are open to correction and input from others. This type of boss can be more interested in the overall well-being of the organization than his own status. This is a good quality for a boss in a more creative pursuit or where you work w/smart, educated people. In this environment the organization needs to be open to new ideas.

Other bosses are autocratic & don't want input. Shut up around this kind of boss, this type of boss is very likely to fire you & make an example out of you. I think this kind of boss could work out OK in a pursuit that needs 100% discipline or where it's production/process focused where no employee thought is required. For example, military where discipline is priority #1. Where thoughtless production/process is required could be assembly line work or say fast food worker.

Keep your mouth shut in the meantime while you figure out your boss' style unless you don't mind being fired. In this economy there are plenty of substitutes lining up for your job.

No, we should not agree because the boss will be happy but the company might fail.

So, it is better we take a risk and tell the boss that his decision is wrong. Although, boss might be angry at that instance. Later on when it yields profit he will be happy and proud of you!

I think it comes down to individuals and situations. There are some managers who believe that their word is law and it should never be questioned. There are others who will actively solicit the opinion of their employees. The first type - the iron-fist - should never, is always right for as long as you want to work there. The second type, feel free to disagree, however do it tactfully. Never in front of their superiors, behind their back, or in public. Respect given is respect received.

My 2 cents + sales tax.

I don't believe that boss is always right. To err is human,His decision can also go wrong..An autocratic leader thinks that he is always right and avoids his sub-ordinates' ideas in decision making process. So an efficient boss should always consider his sub-ordinates in decision making process. This will certainly motivate his colleagues and they will be more loyal to the organization and prevent the boss from going wrong and they will be supporting him even if he goes wrong.

Different management styles require different approaches in different industries. Generally, I would say no to this. The best boss is the one that takes input from his/her employees and makes appropriate decisions. The dictator type of management is confrontational and leads to lower productivity and unhappier workplace.

No, it's not true. But, the boss always has the final say, right or wrong.

regrettably genuine. I did one time regardless of if call a md as quickly as on blaming me for something I didn''t do. He began ranting and raving and that i advised him basically a 2nd! i did no longer do such and such it replaced into so and so and that i refuse to take the blame for this! The words have been greater vehement although. I gained and he respected me after that because of the fact I stood up for myself and upon learn he found out I had no longer achieved it.
