I think it depends. with your tea, it depends on the kind of tea. if youre drinking something like earl grey, you have a twist of lemon in it. something lighter, you dont take anything. a blackberry tea, or something strong and dark like that, honey's good to kill the bitterness. as for coffee, there's an old trucker adage i think is appropriate here. "if you wanted a cup of cream or sugar, why did you order coffee?" take it black of course, straight up. maybe a shot of espresso for some extra kick.

Coffee - no thanks. Never have been able to stand the taste.
Tea - depends on the type of tea and whether or not it's made properly. If it's made wrong there isn't enough sugar to make it taste better.
A chai tea needs a little honey and milk. Green tea - nothing. Chamomile - just a little sugar. Mint - nothing.
