Lauriekins is right, we have reciprocal arrangements within the EU, so the government subsidizes the cost of the education. I studied in Holland for a year and got subsidised education there, just as a Dutch student would pay the same fees as me here in the UK, so its fair enough. It doesn't make any sense to spend thousands educating foreign students who will not put anything back into the system, would it? Actually, foreign students make up most of the funding for the British higher education system, that's why they're so keen to recruit students from places like China and Malaysia - lots of money for the uni!!

The UK operates one fee level for students from the EU (plus a few close political chums), and another rate for overseas students. The reason this only applies to these countries is that only these countries (the EU + Switzerland & Norway) have shown a willingness to mutually accept each other's applicants as home students. Hence only these qualify for the hefty state subsidies that explains the difference in tuition fees. The governments have never struck such a deal with the US, India, China, Australia, Canada, Jamaica, ....., so their students are not eligible for this status in the UK and likewise there is no reciprocation there for UK students.

It's not cheaper for all Europeans, only for citizens of the EU. This is because EU members have reciprocal agreements allowing EU citizens to study anywhere within the EU and be treated as 'home' students.

it relatively is, yet in maximum circumstances it is going to likely be extra high priced. it would be extra inexpensive than going to most of the internal maximum universities interior the U. S., yet extra high priced than maximum state faculties. i know most of the Masters classes I regarded at interior the united kingdom (and this may well be a pair years in the past) ran between 8,200 to fourteen,000 kilos a year (training). i'm keen to guess they're nonetheless with regard to an identical fee (if not extra high priced now). yet another element to evaluate is the fee of residing interior the united kingdom is plenty greater than the U. S. (until you reside in long island). almost each little thing is going to fee you extra, and you will possibly no longer be waiting to comfortably come across a job. additionally, transportation expenses in flying from London to the U. S. is plenty extra of a financial burden than Inter-state return and forth interior the U. S.. once you're searching for Universities in England you need to concentration on the Russel group faculties ... its relatively the English equivalent of the Ivy League (yet there are far extra faculties). i know, in specific, the college of Leeds is actively searching for distant places graduate pupils and offering particularly beneficiant bursaries/fellowships ... this is incredibly helpful to look at that. unfastened money is usually a sturdy element.

I believe their Government pays for their Education. When they have obtained their degree they go back home and put it to good use. When our students obtain their degree they are in debt for thousands of pounds and find they are unable to get a job to suit their qualifications and take what they can get. ie: supermarket shelf stacking etc, not what their parents sacrificed themselves for. Go live in Scotland where University Education is free.

Where you get the Idea that it cheap to study in Europe? I had an overdraft when I got my degree. To study for my BA in Social Science I have to fork out £3.000 for the fees alone, that didn't include the books etc

It's really not they have to pay £6,000 a year for the tuition fees and U.K citizens have to pay up to £3,300 a year.
