Why do so many people that are using this thing not use the spell check??? It tells you right there in FRONT of you, DUHH???? Drives me nuts. It's like the pool says 3 feet and someone does a swan dive. HuH?!! Now that I have re-read this thing that I wrote, it makes spelling look like a last name in Hollywood. Oh well.

It is annoying to see a lot of spelling (like from English class, not Hollywood) errors. Although sometimes I forget to click on that spell check. A suggestion would be to have it more towards the bottom of the box where you type your text or maybe next to the preview button so that it is more visible.

These days, spelling and grammar seem to take a backseat to most things. That's how we get such proliferate use of "chat speak" - don't get me wrong, there's a time and place for every piece of slang, but the time saved in typing "you" vs "u" just doesn't justify it.

And I never claim to be the best writer or speaker myself, but I certainly try and always spell check my email and postings. (Especially now that Firefox 2.0 comes with spell checking built in!)

So, where does the blame lie in this lack of spelling/grammar? Is it on the education system not emphisizing the importance of these skills? Or is it just laziness on the part of the posters? I don't know the answers, but I'm totally in agreement with you that people should use the tools provided to them!
