Do you have an idea of what your other paragraphs are going to be about? It'll help to determine what to write in your first paragraph. But here's maybe an idea that may be useful:

These strengths and weaknesses can be found in academics, athletics and talents. In many areas these strengths and weaknesses are innate while others are things that I have strived hard at or can work to improve. I have many strengths and weaknesses. One of my greatest strengths is in the area of (academics/athletics/other talents) while my greatest weaknesses are __________.

The first paragraph of an essay should always be the last thing you write. Forget the first paragraph, and concentrate on what some of your weaknesses and strengths are (3 is a good number, so think of 2 or 3 of each). Write a short paragraph for each (4 to 10 sentences). Give an example in each paragraph. Then, write the conclusion, for example, what you have learned. Then, go to the beginning and write the first paragraph.

A good outline is: tell them what you are going to tell them; tell them; and then tell them what you told them. Works every time.

Remember to be clear and concise. Don't use more words when fewer will do. And always edit your paper. That means, read it at least twice after you finish it, just to make sure that it makes sense and says what you want it to say. And always, ALWAYS run spell check.

First mistake, the question was what are YOUR strengths and weaknesses? Stop and think about you, It will take a time. The question was not about what everyone else has a problem with. Tell the WORLD what your big deal is about. Don't be scared. Don't capitalize on your weaknesses because everyone has them. The world will make you weak if you let them. DON'T! You have a big deal in you. Yell about it. If you don't, no one else gives a damn.

Your teacher is trying to make you think about yourself and who you are :) I thought it might help you if I told you what some of mine are..

* I am a very detailed person and sometimes I forget to think about the end result of what I am doing and get carried away with the process
* I am a shy person so people think I am snobby when really I am not!
* I eat way too much sugar and I can't stop myself from eating it
* I judge other people at times when perhaps compassion might better serve
* I watch too much TV

Other Examples of Weaknesses

* Closedmindedness (not wanting to listen to different ideas)
* Inflexibility (wanting to keep doing the same old thing)
* Not very good at catching balls or climbing
* Make yukky food and burn toast

Examples of Strengths (things you are great at)

* Good communication skills
* Good listener
* Good soccer player
* Strong in times of adversity
* Great at expressing yourself through art or dance or singing
* Friendly and compassionate
* Animal lover
* Excellent techincal skills
* Super organised and tidy
* Good at cooking
* Good listener and friend

Perhaps you could start your paragraph with your experience with this project, something like...

At first I wasn't sure what this project meant for me. I had not ever thought of myself in terms of strengths and weaknesses, I was happy living in the moment. I recognise now that perhaps one of my weaknesses is not looking inward but only looking outward. Because of this project though, I now have also recognised one of my greatest strenghts.. and that is my resourcefullness.

(ie using the internet for help)

Don't forget that your first paragraph should introduce all the ideas that you are going to talk about in the essay.

Etc etc on and on hope that helps you

"Every single person in the world has various strengths and weaknesses....according to neutral outlook.And everybody has weaknesses....according to the pessimist approach.Also,everybody has strengths as per the optimistic mindset.But, in my case ,my greatest weakness is that i am blind to the weaknesses as i keep on upgrading my strengths to nurture my personality instead of getting confused in analysing my weaknesses..It helps me to tread the walk of life with much charm and zest."
Then....you can write anything you want to.......
