cause in june at fifa world cup 06 the england match against sweden that end as a draw micheal own was injuryed in that match and he said he will be out for 6 months...

The fact that Owen has played in three WCs is irrelevant...apart from having a long term injury which means he wont be fully fit again until next season anyway.
Quite rightly, he was never even considered as a replacement for Beckham. He has never been captain for his club sides, and is a quiet, unassuming man who does not have the characteristics required in a captain. He is simply not a leader.
There were ONLY ever two choices to be new captain: Terry or Gerrard. Personally, I'd have preferred Gerrard but Terry is a good leader as well.

Owen only seems like the better player because he's a striker and strikers score goals. Most of Terry's work goes unnoticed, like Cannavaro for Italy. Anyway Owen would make a terrible leader on the pitch because he doesn't get involved with the game much. Terry is a natural leader, as seen from his performances for Chelsea and is definitely the right choice for England, with Steven Gerrard the only other worthy candidate.

Chances are that Owen is returning to football in January.I agree,if Michael Owen was fit,he should have been made captain.But after this Injury,hell be slower and unfit,which would not be good for the team..

I Love John Terry. But, I love Michael Owen too. It sucks that he hurt his leg. That game was sooo sad. :( And it sucks about David Beckham. :(
