My work requires me to be mentally sharp, to multi-task and to re-prioritize constantly. What can I do to improve my mental alertness and mental capacities so that I can improve my work performance and function at my very best mentally? Thanks!

Fish oil - especially one called Eye-Q. My friend's son has dyslexia and slight ADH and she really notices a massive improvement in him when he's taking Eye-Q. Also 'brain-training' exercises - there are loads of websites and books for this sort of thing to help improve concentration and memory. Even doing a crossword every day will keep your brain active. Good luck!

Basil essential oil is very good for focusing the mind and clarity. And it also works you up. Keep a little bottle into work with you and sniff it when you feel the need. Or alternatively put a few drops on a hankie... if you want to be more subtle!

Best thing to take to increase mental activity is Gingko Biloba. It is a herbal remedy made from the maidenhair tree. It increases blood flow to the brain. Especially good to take from the age of 45 onwards. You can buy it at Holland & Barret and most places that stock herbal remedies. It is very good.

Water - the cheapest health regime there is. Drinking about 8 glasses a day has been known to stimulate the brain, and help you think much more clearly. It also rehydrates you, avoiding tiredness caused by dehydration.

Regular meals, varied diet, plenty of exercise, enough sleep. No alternative crap, just a reasonably healthy lifstyle.
