I have an escort Gti mark6 & its loosing oil somewhere but its not leaking anywhere, not sure if its burning it or not, vehicle had an oil change about 3 weeks ago & within 2 weeks there was no oil reading on dipstick also we have fitted 2 sets of sparks plugs within that time & no. 2 keeps going. Any suggestions on what it could be?

are you reading it at the correct tempature... you are burning oil and have compression problems... garage job !!

As your car is a gti it's probably been driven by some heavy footed people in the past causing engine wear.It sounds like the oil rings on the pistons are going particularly on no.2.Does it smoke when you are driving ..if it is the rings you are looking at an expensive job for the engine fixing .Take it to a garage most mechanics will diagnose problems for free

Sounds like you are burning the oil. Mostly in your number two cylinder from what you say. Could be a number of things. For one you could have worn valve guides, or could be leaking oil past your piston rings. The best thing to do is run a compression test on the engine. That will tell you exactly what is wrong with it.

Remove your spark plugs if they are wet and oily it is burning oil , another test stand outside car rev car hard a few times if it spews out blue smoke its burning oil , another test wile its running remove oil filler cap watch for smoke puffing out from filler if its excessive your burning oil

have a compression test done on your car, that should point you in the direction of your troubles
