there is always the stereotype of we Latino women..yes i'm Latino...i have a small waist big chest and a good looking butt, and when guys talk to me, it's the age old cliche about Latino women....and to be honest, there may be a shred of truth in there some where, but on the serious side what about other ethnicity that has been negatively stereotyped how do you feel/deal with it when it's about your race, culture...and do you also stereotype others?........

By the way the stereotype that is pinned on Latino women is that we are very hot bloodied, and wilde in bed.

I always avoid stereotyping others unless I truly have a vendetta against them aka the religious section. I'm Asian, and I get stereotyped a lot, but I know that what they say isn't true, so it doesn't matter because all groups get stereotyped (not saying that's correct, but it's at least somewhat fair). If they do say something racist, though, I will definitely interrupt them and TELL them to not say that sh*t.

I'm black and i don't know any stereotypes about latinos! but if you were to say mexican thats a different story!
As for me i feel like blacks are the most hated by every race. Blacks in general have been threw so much and will forever be stereotyped as a thug, ho*, or uneducated. Television aka the brain washer, all around the world portray blacks as dirty and poor. That vision alone influence other cultures to believe that blacks are really slum. Being latino will never know true racism!
oooh i like being black and will not change if i could. I'm the center of attention! GOOD OR BAD!

I won't say that I NEVER stereotype: we all do because our brains are programmed to. But, knowing how they work, I can actively work to overcome those concepts and not let them shape my assumptions or thinking. The thing about sterotypes is that everyone always says "I'm not being racist (or sexist, or heterosexist, or whatever); that's how things are in my experience". But, once you've heard about a given stereotype, just once, from then on that becomes a part of what your brain expects to see in people like that. And as such, your brain will tend to filter out things that do not support the stereotype, and those things that you DO notice, you're less likely to remember later on. And, you're also more likely to behave in a way that would bring out the given traits in the person: hence CAUSING the behavior you see in others. When you consider that most groups have a NUMBER of traits attatched to their stereotype, it becomes clear that almost ANYONE, member of said group or not, is going to have at least some of those traits which will then get noticed and remembered at the expense of the entire rest of their personality.
I don't appreciate ANY stereotypes, positive or negative, about me. I want people to get to know me, and to not make ridiculous causal assumptions about why I am the way I am.

I don't stereotype others, if you are nice to me then I am nice to you. I don't really care about races, though I think Latino women are gorgeous, just like other women, it is really the personality that makes me like them. If I am stereotyped then I usually avoid people that are negative towards me. That is really not my style. :)

I'm a proud black girl...I haven't dropped out of school...I'm not sexually active....Yes my hair is past my shoulders and it's all mine...I love reading...I love piercings...I'm not going to be a stereotype...I'm going to stay true to myself and my beliefs...all i can do is hold my head hi...b/c i can't change the way other people think...only they can...so I'll just let them work it out through their pea brains
