my connection keeps terminating .when my phone rings and sometimes when i am just surfing or downloading, it takes ages to reconnect.i am running the modem off an extension lead could this be my prob?i have spoken to my provider TOUCAN and they say there is nothing wrong with the signal to my line.

just say you have broadband in 1 room and also a phone in the same room both connected to the phone line by a wee filter box that's fine but any other phones in the house must have a filter on them as well for everthing to work properly, I'm running mine of a extension and its fine, filter boxes are cheap and so are extension leads so try a new lead as well to see,

Any phone device plugged into a phone socket requires a filter. Including your broadband modem. If you have done this then the filter on the normal phone is iffy. If both phone and broadband are on the same socket ensure that a filter is fitted and funtional.

do u have filters connected your phone line?... if not this cud be ur problem! u will need them to prevent the broadband connection from being dropped

yes- you need a seperate modem so that you can do as you please without it disturbing your broadband connection. I would go to ntl and enquire. I have a seperate one so that i can do both.
