The direct answer to your question is YES, it really works. I've had many patients who've completed eliminated various skin issues, including, rashes, eczema, etc with the help of Chinese Medicine (acupuncture and herbs).
I am an acupuncturist (a four year Master's degree) and I also have spent 8 months in India studying Ayurveda and they are most certainly NOT at all the same, not even close. Though there are similarities, the underlying theory and the diagnostic methodology is very different. That said, Chinese Medicine is an incredibly powerful method of healing. It is thousands of years old and millions of people depend on it every day for the treatment of their ailments.
However, you need to be sure to research acupuncturists in your area to make sure they're proficient. You've always got to keep in mind that every field has very competent, gifted individuals and then you've got your jokers, who scraped by and jumped through all the hoops, but are incompetent. A good idea is to ask your friends, family and/or colleagues to see if someone can recommend a number of them, then you can interview each and see who you feel most comfortable with.
Good luck to you!

My son was covered in eczema when he was a baby we turned to Chinese medicine when nothing else worked. That was 20 years ago when there was only one shop in Piccadilly London. The results were remarkable and after a few weeks he was sleeping through the night for the first time. I have to say the process of reducing the awful mixture nearly put us off but we persevered and everything was OK.

It would depend on the product/treatment being recommended. Some of the herbal treatments are good (remember all medicine started with plants, before being synthesised), some is just hype and a way to get your money. Check into it with a parapharmacist (pharmacist trained in herbal medicine) or homeopath before spending.
