about a Simon Gagne for Jerome Iginla trade? The Philly papers have said now and then that sources around the league are rumoring about it. Just wondering what's going on in your neck of the league. Thanks.

I appreciate everyone's opinions but I wanted to know if the papers in Calgary are reporting anything and if they are, then what are they speculating.

Why would Phila. do this?
Didn't Gagne just sign a 5-year contract?
He also stated that he loves Phila, his house is in Phila, his kids go to school in Phila and he wants to stay in Phila. He also plays his a-ss off for Phila and his stats reflect a player that is way too valuable to trade-away.

Are you referring to rumors that began pre-season?

I don't think that that trade would make sense - or get anything accomplished for that matter. Calgary would be giving up their heart and soul for a goal scorer? Are you mad? Not to mention that Flames' fans would be pissed.

Also, Gagne is happy in Philly. Maybe they are dangling him, but not for Iginla.

But these two teams MUST do something quick. Personally, I think that Philly is going to start a fire sale soon. It's time to rebuild maybe. I don't think that they can make a push for the playoffs anymore...

Calgary is just wrong. They were built for a different time, a different era. Tanguay is not the right type of player for this team. I think they're in for a long year too.

There's been some talk here in Montreal about getting Forsberg for a playoff push. What do you think of that!? Stranger things have happened...

Anyway, good luck. If you are either a Flames' or Phillies' fan this year, well, I think you're in for a longgggg year. Don't worry, there's always the Habs baby!!

I am in Philadelphia right now. The papers are saying that the Flyers are close to getting Roman Hamerlik. There has been some talk of Gange being dangled , but it does not say for who. Obviously I do not read the Calgary newspapers, but would the Flames trade Iginla? As a hockey fan I have that hard to imagine, but I guess stranger things have happened.

Ive heard Alfredsson for Iginla but i dont think that would solve very much. Calgary would still lack a punch and why punish Iggy for the mess when hes scored in 4 straight games.
I havent heard of the Hamrlik deal but that may be a good one that could shake both teams up.

Stupid move it is done... You gotta get Sutter outta there..sheesh the flames were awesome ..what happened?
Still playing the trap and they have to let Iginla fly man..
Kipper can keep them in the game.. more offensive mided coaching...

That would not be a good trade.Iginla is more than a goalscorer, Philly would have to be offering more than that.
