Thanksgiving is the national day of...thanksgiving. It was made a holiday by President Lincoln to help heal the scars of the Civil War. Meant to symbolize the thanksgiving feast the Pilgrims had with the Native Americans after the winter and near-drought of the first year of settlement (the Native Americans basically kept the settlers alive, introducing them to native crops such as corn and lima beans and regional seafood like lobster and cod), the feast is actually an invitation for families to come back together and for the nation itself to put aside the bickering for just one day and eat and enjoy each other just for the sake of family. Unfortunately, the pureness of the day is tainted by the fact that it marks the beginning of the Christmas buying season, but what can we do about that? Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November.
I'm not sure what I'm thankful for yet; I haven't made up my mind. There are so many things I am grateful for, but that one thing I am thankful for...I need to put more thought into it.

Thanksgiving is not a time for football games and turkeys(sterotypes though) but it's about famlies taking the time out of their schedules and well you know being a loving family. And even if you can't be with you family, try having one with your friend. It's really about togetherness.

Oh Wow, just made me realize how long it's been since I had history class.
First question, I am going to be thankful for my life ... I have a loving family and we are getting by. And someone out there always has it worse.
Second question is easier to refer you to a website to explain in full detail. Check this out, and have a Great Thanksgiving! Tay

Thanksgiving is a time when families get together, eat dinner, and just spend quality time together. I'm thankful for my friends and family.

Its kind of like a "last supper"-ish shindig, if you will. We're blindly celebrating the last bribe made to Natives before pillaging, hording, & raping their people & native land, herego, the term Natives.
I, personally, will be celebrating family & the fact that I just smoked a blunt that's going to give me enough munchies to finish off my plate.
...Giggle...

The same things I'm Thankful for right now.
I'm thankful I'm alive & well & in my right mind.
I'm thankful my mom's cancer hasn't returned. And I'm thankful
she's still alive & well.
I'm thankful for my family.
I'm thankful God has shown mercy on me. And has blessed me.
I'm thankful.
