Advertisement is not an easy thing... and requires a bit of serious planning.
To make leaflets sounds OK but the problem is where to let them. For instance how many to print. So the first step is to make some questions:
1. Which is your target? for sure not all the kids of the country. But maybe the kids of your city and between the ages of 1 to 12 years... Are the parents the target?
2. Where do they pass most of their time? Maybe on the school, then in some stores and at home in their computers?
3. Which is the advantage of your offer? value added, price, ...
4. Where do you plan to make the parties? in your customer's home or maybe in some special places? restaurants, hotels...
5. How much can you spend in advertisement.

When you will have those answer will be easier for you to find the right strategy. Normally you will need to mix different ways.
Something that normally works is when you motivate your customers to give you public feedback. Here some ideas:

1. Open a Blog where you could write testimonials of your customers events with links to pictures or videos (google video, Microsoft soapbox, etc). Authorization of your customer is required.
2. You can take the pictures and or videos and offer them like a value added or an additional service. That would save the parents time and ease the process of sending pictures to friends and family members.
3. Publish information in your blog about the full range of services you are able to provide, partners and places where you have a special offer.
4. Include the address of your Blog in your printed materials and communication with partners and providers (they also have kids)
5. Communicate with your local chamber of commerce or any other support organization.
6. Try to get contacts in the local radio stations, magazines or newspapers and send them some press releases. In that case your Blog will help them to find more relevant information.

I hope that helps! good luck!

For my small business I advertised in the local paper shop window at £0.50 a week. I paid up for 10 weeks. Enquiries started after 3 weeks and work started after 8 weeks. I have kept that advert going, with updates for 12 years and I have always had results. These shop ads are a recognised place for browsing and if your advert hits a spot you will be OK. From those you get you should get referrals.
Newspaper ads didn't work as they were costly and only lasted for one day.
Best of luck. Wish I could see the demonstrations!

Hey, I hope that this will help you out.
I do referal work.
I work for myself and from home. I do not sell, stock, pick-up or deliver anything.
There is no paperwork, no record keeping, and no overhead.
All I do is set up wholesale accounts for a catalog company.
The starting cost is $29.All of your business info is included in that cost.
This is a SOLID 20 year old, INC 500 company, with NO large investments, and NO RISK.
And if you are not satisfied, you get ALL your money back within 90 days.
This company is set apart from ALL other companies.
In two short years my mom, who is a stay at home mom,
is making very reliable, residual income.
This is not a MLM, or I would not be involved in this myself.

First pass on this message to everyone you knew. Provide them the information that you will provide apart from other competitors in market. Organize one or two, not many at free of cost to show them that you are the best in the market. Where there is a will there is a way. Go ahead and be top among organizers.

I know this may sound a little cheesy, but for your business especially, you should advertise on myspace!!! Create a profile for your business!!! Tons of small business owners do it, and it works ......legitimately!!

That is what I would do..... thats 1 good way to advertise and even get business!!

car boot sales to hand out leaflets

local markets to also hand out lealfets and take bookings

you could also contact royal mail for leaflets drops obviously there is a charge but you would be able to reach a larger target

Word of mouth and leaflets round the neighbourhood are a great way to get started.
