This is going to sound silly but lemon juice and an exfoliant like sugar or salt, when used together, will help fade the mistakes. The lemon juice acts like a bleach. I would go by a bottle of lemon juice and in a bowl, mix the lemon juice and sugar/salt until you have a workable paste and apply that as you would an exfoliant. It may hurt if you use salt so try the sugar first. I tried it after I watched The Wedding Planner after a horrible experience with self tanner and it worked. It did take two applications to make the streaks go away but I was left with a believable tan after that.
Try soaking first in a hot bath to open the pores before you.

i will repeat here...since you asked twice...i understand your panic this is a real emergency, i hope you try whay i have suggested i feel for you
try this...take a hot shower exfoliating like you did before...THis time when you step out of the shower take a DRY towel to "buff" off the tan..i do this when i get a little streak here and there and it does work...i have also used Windex on my feet when i went to one of those magic tan places and forgot to watch for puddles...i noticed it at work and that was all i could find there...Windex cures everything (my big fat greek wedding...remember that movie?) at any rate i wish you well i hate when that happens...
and might i suggest the BEST tanner in the whole world... Loreal Sublime (not the gel) Sunless Tanner....you can see where it goes on and get an instant glow, plus it has shimmer in it making your legs look GREAT...
hint: anytime you use sunless tanner you need to "pat" your legs to avoid any streaks or stripes pat pat pat!!!

I've never tried it but some of my friends are fake tanning freaks and they said that you should use lemon juice and a loofah. Good luck girl! Ps. What did you use, so that others may not make the same mistake.

Exfoliate with the sugar and lemon. If all else fails and you need to go out wear long sleeves and long pants,I'm sure it will be okay if you do that. Good luck

lemon juice helps lighten the skin, i would use that twice daily, but make sure to use real lemon juice not frozen or prepackaged
