Can blogging become an influence in politics, culture, sports issues, religion, etc., or are bloggers a bunch of loose cannons just sounding off?

Blogging has already influenced politics greatly. To a lesser extent religion and culture. Yes it has allowed anyone to have his or her opinion heard by anyone that may stumble across it but that is the beauty of the internet! There are some such as Arianna who have a huge following and are growing more powerful because of it. Will they be susceptible to the problems of mainstream media? Some will and I have hope that others will remain above the gutter.
Has my blog influenced others? Yes it has in it's own way.
Most everyone who blogs will have at least a small influence on others. It becomes a question of whether your blog is creating a positive influence or a negative one.

Bloggers all have an agenda and can spew forth their opinions without facts to base their claims. I take all of them and what they say with a grain of salt.

To base one's own opinion on what they say is ludicrous and to be swayed by what they say shows people are too lazy to research what is said.
