I want to thank all of you for being so honest. I would like to note that when someone truly forgives another person they don't bring it up to them again. It is not used against them when it is convenient for the situation. This is very hard, that is true forgiveness. It does take time to get to that place in your life. Forgiveness is not really about someone else, it is about yourself. It could be looked at as one selfish act of good. Anger and pain should not be something that you want to carry with you and we all make mistakes. Those of you who have a hard time forgiving, keep trying.
I can forgive easily but I have many other flaws in my character.

Not always. Sometimes it takes a lot of praying for me to become willing to forgive. Best I can claim is that I keep trying.

I do forgive, but i make sure i give the person a hard time first, so they know not to upset me again....i think if you forgive too easily, then that gives an indication to the person your forgiving that they can get away with stuff every time, because as far as their concerned is that they will always be forgiven no matter what, but i definitely don't forget.

No because some things can and should NEVER be forgiven or forgotten. I also hate the word "Sorry" because for one, it doesn't change anything, and secondly, I don't believe that you should have to apologize for things that are either out of your control or that you have knowingly done, however, someone else doesn't approve of. Life is what it is...you learn as you go along, how on earth can one be expected to live it to the fullest if you spend half your time feeling guilty?

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT HAPPENED:A CHEATER I WILL NEVER FORGIVE.But I will forget about it.
Other stuff as lying, betrayl of trust is easy to forgive and forget.
Just after we sat down and got the whole incident out in the open.Suppose apologies are given?
Move on and forgive:but do not forget to soon
It might happen again, then a decision is easily made:dump for ever:deleted, and give it nop more thought:a bloody wats of time.Have a nice day:Rob.xxxx

If you don't are you really doing yourself any good? Holding onto a grudge will only leave you a bitter person. Why carry hatred and anger around with you, when it's so much better to smile and laugh ?

Depends but not really.
The only reason I get affected in thje first place is due to attachment to that person or situation.
Therefore i am resolutely hurt by deception and don't forgive easily

It depends on what I'm supposed to be forgiving.

I get apologized to regularly by people, and I didn't even realize anything had happened that required an apology. In those cases, instantly! (*lol*)
