Is your shower an electric one or is your shower attached to your bath taps? If you have an electric shower then there are 2 thing to check (1) an electric shower should have an isolation switch which is normally situated out side the bath/shower room, this switch should have a fuse. Check this fuse is not blown? it is a 13amp fuse the same type you have in a plug. (2) Check the main fuse board. Some fuse board still have fuse wire, this has to be renewed if blown. More modern ones have circuit breakers, these have a switch on them and you just have to flick the switch to on. Don't forget when doing any of the above switch off the power at the main fuse board. If the shower still does not work then you will need to have a new shower unit in stalled by a professional.
(1) If your shower is attached to your bath mixer taps then the answer to your problem is that in the winter month's and it's colder, you will find that it's best to run the hot water first then slowly add cold water till you get a comfortable temperature to shower under.
(2) If your shower has a large control knob about half way up the shower wall, then this type has a thermostat control. If you are only getting cold then some types you can replace the thermostat, if it is not the type you can repace the thermostat then the hole shower control has to be replaced. For this you will need to contact a plumber to do the job. As this is not a D.I.Y job.
Hope this helps you.

When you turn the shower on will the combi fire up when set to water only, if not turn a hot tap on slow dose it fire up now if so dose the shower get warm. If yes then the problem looks to be with the flow. Showers only take a small amount of hot water and it sounds like the diaphragm is on the way out on the combi but first have a look at the shower head and make sure the head is clean poke holes out especially if you live in a hard water area. If when the boiler is firing up and you still don't have heat at the shower then suspect the thermostat cartridge in the shower.

it relatively is because of the fact which you're working off warm water until now the boiler has had a raffle to warmth it. The water content textile of a Combi boiler isn't plenty (approximately 4 litres) attempt working the nice and snug water with the nice and snug faucets 0.5 open.

its possible that your shower controls are at fault. or your heater within the shower unit is not set correctly, most showers have an internal heater, the boiler feed could have been turned off ,but the shower would not work if thats the only feed in, it will have a cold feed into the shower, check the shower regulator mixer controls.

Your mains pressure may be only just sufficient for the combi, check your stopcock is fully open.
