In the United States, all but one state requires that a couple be 18 in order to marry without parental permission. Nebraska sets the age of majority at 19. Although a few states will waive this requirement if there is a pregnancy, the couple may still have to have court approval.

Delware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, and Oklahoma: Allow pregnant teens or teens who have already had a child to get married without parental consent. However in Florida, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, the young couple must have authorization from a court. Maryland requires that the minor be at least 16. Even with parental approval, many states will require court approval when a person is 16 years of age or less.

I would think that with parental consent a girl could get married in any state. There might be some southern states a 16 year old could get married without parental consent. Unless the laws have changed. I also think you have to be a resident for a certain amount of time.

My mother married at age 16 and her and my dad are about to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. They are not cousins, by the way. Different states have different age requirements. For example, My aunt got married at age 13!!! I really wouldn't advise that for anyone. You will probably need your parent's consent. Check with your state to see what laws they have. You will want to make sure you are REALLY ready for marriage and you aren't just trying to take an easy way out because marriage is serious and no matter how mature you are, you are never quiet ready for it. I will say though, that age is really in how mature you are and not so much in how many years old you are. I've seen 30 year olds who still weren't ready for marriage. Hope you've found your "Prince Charming". :-)

Yes, with parental consent. If the guy is under 18 too, he'll need parental consent as well.

It does vary a bit per state, though.

All I have to ask is WHY? There is no way 16 year old is ready for marriage even if your parents consent to it.

Yes, with parental consent. Hopefully they will NOT consent.
Marriage is supposed to be for a lifetime. And you have too much life ahead of you to take on that responibility.
You're much too young to be a parent. And that will surely follow.
Please, PLEASE, continue your education and do something great with your life!
