But yeah, I had that happened to me a few years ago, right in the middle of Christmas shopping... I wanted to break the machine!!

Yup - the one that was local to me was really old & munted. I was pretty much done waiting for the cash to get spit out with my card from the machine & it says on the screen "shutting down" & the little plastic thing came down over the keypad. I was really mad because it was all my pay (I was on disability payments at the time) so I went into the bank & told them, hoping it didn't come back & spit my cash & card out for some random person to take. They tried to make out it was because I got the PIN wrong but why would it have been giving me money if I got the PIN wrong? I had to stand with a secuirty guard until they fixed the machine.

lol actually yesturday it happened to me, I just got a new atm card and it has 6 digit pin not 4 and I got it wrong 3x and it took my new card. I was sooo pissed off cuz I wasn't anywhere near home and no cash :( Now it's gonna take 7-10business days for a new card :(

Yep. If it was at a bank, go there first thing when it opens and it may be able to be retrieved, especially if it was your bank. If it was not a bank, but just an ATM like in a store or something, get the number off of the machine...should be an 800 number and call immediately.

Never put a Credit card in an ATM and I only gave it money when I wanted to deposit money.

Well it did once and I needed money really bad so I got upset and went into the bank screaming and demanding some money but people got the wrong idea and I spent 25 years in prison

Yes it has happened with me. The money so retained by ATM was not returned to me by the bank. But after raising a lot of hue and cry I was approached for a settlement and was paid back in cash. If you want to know details please send mail.

Not my cash, but it has kept my ATM card. luckily, the bank was open. They canceled that one and gave me a new one.

Luckily the bank was open at the time , the cash had gotten creased up and blocked the delivery
