4x4 isnt only for off roading but if u want a slammed truck with bags then go buy or trade for a 2wd chevy a z71 is simply and off road package so by trading or buying u wont be missing anything. converting ur truck to 2wd is out of the question as it is worth more as a 4x4 and u dont have the knowledge or the tools or budget to complete such a transformation as u would have to buy a new tranny and upper and lower a-arms and spindles and springs and sway bar and wow the list goes on. so i recommend starting with the best or easiest go get what u need to do what u want. please take this response seriously as i have been customizing cars since probably before u were born. i do like slammed trucks with either hydraulics or bags but they have to be full size mini trucks just dont look right they look like a minivan on drugs full size chevys do look good slammed

Do not try and remove the 4 X 4 components! That would be a major undertaking and would reduce the value of your truck and cost a small fortune to do.
You could lower the truck a few inches and I would suggest you look in the phone book in your area for people that do that work or go to some car or truck shows and talk to people about the lowering jobs they did to their vehicles.
Better yet you might want to consider selling your truck and buying one that someone else has already put the money into having this done. Your 4X4 should bring a reasonable price and you should be able to get a 2X4 already done the way you like.
At the kelly bluebook site you can find what your car is worth and ALSO search for the truck you want. They can link you to local classified ads by searching for exactly what you want.
You can also look in the auto trader. There are links to both sites below.
Good luck!

Leave it. You would ruin the usefulness of the 4x4 by lowering it or removing the parts. Better Idea would be to get a two wheel drive and trick it out. You could sell your truck for enough to buy the two wheel drive with money left over to pay for the Mods.

You pronounced no longer something approximately mileage or what type of shape those trucks are in. Who is conscious what type of lives they lived. The Chevy would have been a babied pavement queen jointly as the Ford grew to become into towing paintings trailers and stale-roading. Theres no thank you to grant you a first rate answer with the lack of ability of information you presented.

making a low rider out of a 4x4 isn't a good idea. you could do it, but it would be a really hard and money-wasting effort. sell it, or trade it for a two wheel and convert it instead.

take off the 4x4 components?!?!?! what are you smoking? sell it and buy a 2 wheel drive, please! they are way cheaper, and the $$$ left over will probably buy those 20's. why have a 4x4 unless you use it?
