my son and i did "shrinky dinks" pretty much all day today. it's been about 25 years since i did them before, and he thought it was the greatest thing.
what's a favorite activity you did as a child?

shrinky dinks...using colored pencils, you trace designs on a rough, flexible "plastic" type of paper. you cut around your design, then you bake it in the oven for a few minutes and it shrinks to about 1/6 the original size and the "paper" gets harder and thicker

I've always been an artist. My Mom used to find all sorts of fun and crazy art activities for me as a kid.
If it was creative, I did it.
But my favorite was making Christmas ornaments with my Mom when I was a kid. Everything from Paper quilling, Swedish Paper heats, even shrinky dinks! Mom still has most of the hand made ornaments we all made when we were kids.

Have just "googled shrinky" dink and found out what it is. Odd.
My favourite thing as a child was being part of a large group of kids doing what kids do; running games, hide and seek, swimming in the local river and all sorts of things like that.

omg I haven't did shrinky dinks forever, I loved those color and watch them srink in the oven. Another favorite was my Barbie Head that you could put make up on and do the hair. I loved that thing

Call it what you want.Main prerogative.
Get a bunch of your friends.Divide into two teams.Mark what boundries of your neighbourhood you are all allowed to roam.Then roam.
Scatter,Search,Capture,-Same ol' "Hide-n'-Go Seek" with more "attitude".

my mom sprayed my dads shaving cream all over a table and then she spread it out and i drew in it and made pictures letters anything i wanted. I do that with my kids bc it does not hurt the furniture easy clean up no staining and it is so much fun and not costly. MY kids love it just as much as i did when i was little.

Color Forms, for some reason. I still remember putting the red boots and the yellow rain coat on the little girl... never mind, I don't think they have those any more.

remember the little plastic pegs that you put on the plastic board that had little spikes that the pegs fit over. you could make your own pattern and then u put wax paper over that and sat an iron it. it would melt together .....i loved doin that
