I never heard that, I know my Mom wouldn't let me wear red and purple together, but now we have the special group of ladies that only wear red and purple, the red hat ladies society.

Hello the red hat Ladies wear purple not because they are prostitutes. They are Elite and proper I dunno that is actually who comes into my mind when I think purple clothes.
